Calgary, AB: PCC Communications Inc of Alberta Canada is pleased to announce the successful field test demonstration of its Wave6 radio/base station technology.
In comparison tests conducted in Rockyford, Alberta from March 18th - 23rd, 2009, PCC Communications in conjunction with P3C Manufacturing [facilitated by TR Labs and NEWT of Calgary, Alberta] successfully demonstrated non-line-of-sight broadcast of high definition video at distances of 10kms, 20kms and 30kms to a standard laptop computer. While not assessed for mobility, Wave6 successfully broadcasted high definition video to a moving vehicle traveling at speeds of up to 100kph at a distance of 18kms from the broadcast point (PCC's licensed tower location), again broadcasting to a standard laptop.
Glen Boyd, CEO of PCC, stated that the tests exceeded all expectations. "We knew that we had a rock solid solution for rural broadband communications, but the hard work and dedication of our Engineering Solutions Group, as well as our manufacturing, communications and network teams all came together to deliver something truly revolutionary in communication." Mr. Boyd went on to say that, "This is a Disruptive Technology. Wave6 will change rural communications. Public safety, education, telemedicine and emergency medical services, border safety, disaster response - all will have benefit from this technology." Phil Sarozek, co-founder of PCC added, "This is a made in Canada solution that will improve the communications capability, and hopefully, the lives of anyone living, working or investing in rural locations anywhere in the world. This success belongs to all of the employees of PCC and P3C as well as all of the people that supported this effort. It's a great day."
