PCC expands with data centre in Calgary
February 29, 2008
PCC Communications has taken the next step in its evolution of becoming one of the most self-sustained communications companies in Canada with the development of a data centre in Calgary. The centre, located on the northeast corner of the city, is the second location for PCC in Cowtown, complimenting its existing manufacturing and communications centre that houses P3C manufacturing (subsidiary of PCC), and PCC’s data and network design and implementation centre.
The latest move brings to five the number of physical locations for PCC, adding to its Grande Prairie, Edmonton, and Medicine Hat locations. Construction and renovations continue and are expected to be complete by May 1, 2008.
The facility allows for not only hosting client services, but will also be used to house the electronic assembly component of P3C Manufacturing. The move will then allow for further expansion of P3C’s existing metal fabrication plant and bring the total square footage of P3C Manufacturing Calgary floor space to 100,000. This adds to the 20,000 square feet of manufacturing floor space the company owns in Edmonton.
