PCC Communications Inc. was formed in 2004 as an amalgamation of several companies serving the Western Canadian telecommunications market. With extensive experience in the telecom industry, PCC founders Glen Boyd and Phil Sarozek started PCC with a mission to improve telcom quality for under-served customers in rural, remote, and difficult to serve areas.
In 1997, Boyd and Sarozek brought another company, Total Telcom, to the public market after Boyd started Total in the late eighties. Boyd served as CEO at Total until 2001, and under his leadership, Total was one of the top performing stocks on the TSE for eighteen months running. During this time Mr. Boyd recognized that the rural and remote regions of Canada were not being served with high-end communication solutions. Glen realized that the resource and agriculture industries in these areas are some of the most productive in the world and are critical to the Canadian economy. Boyd left his position at Total and began putting the pieces together to form what would become PeaceCom Ltd. and eventually PCC Communications, returning to his roots in Grande Prairie, Alberta in the process.
From the founding of PCC, it has been the vision of Boyd and Sarozek to bring rural, remote and environmentally challenging areas like Northern Alberta the same, or better quality telcom services as are typically found in the major urban centres of Canada. Thus, the rugged, remote, and often frozen terrain of the Canadian North became the birthplace and training ground for PCC's team, and the testing ground for PCC technology.
Starting with wireless data transmission services, the company quickly expanded into two-way voice communications and other communication services. In the meantime, with significant investments from Boyd, Sarozek, and a few visionary investors, Boyd put together a dedicated and talented team. This team has developed and acquired the technology and telcom assets that continue to drive PCC's rapid growth.
Today, PCC is a one-stop communication provider, delivering complete communication solutions to large enterprise operations and residential customers alike. The company is recognized as a global leader in delivering top-quality communications services and systems to the vast areas of the planet that are unserved or under-served by old-school communications companies. From the frozen tundra of the Canadian Arctic to the deserts of the Middle East and the jungles of Africa, PCC is able to deliver high-quality communication solutions where other telcom providers fear to tread. Just think what we can do for you if your problem is not so challenging, and just requires reliable communication and great service!
